About The Opportunity
Your role as an ESD Consultant is to deliver projects across energy, sustainable design, and building performance, including Section J, J1V3, BASIX, NatHERS, ESD reporting, and broader sustainability advice for new and existing buildings.
Working under the guidance of our directors, you will support and manage a diverse range of Class 2 to 9 projects across residential, commercial, retail, and mixed-use developments, while taking ownership of outcomes, collaborating with project teams, and contributing to the growth of EBS’s energy services.
About You
- A motivated and personable consultant with at least 3 years’ experience in ESD, energy, or sustainability consulting.
- Qualified in Engineering, Construction, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- Strong technical knowledge of NCC/BCA, Section J, J1V3, BASIX, NatHERS, and relevant Australian Standards.
- Experienced in energy modelling, technical reporting, and delivering practical compliance outcomes across a range of building types.
- Experience using industry software such as IES VE, DesignBuilder, or Better Building.
- A strong communicator with great attention to detail, sound project management skills, and the ability to work both independently and within a growing team.
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
Responsibilities
- Deliver energy and sustainability advice across all project stages, from early design to completion.
- Prepare and review Section J, J1V3, BASIX, NatHERS, ESD reports, and related technical assessments.
- Review design documentation, applications, and site conditions, and provide practical advice on compliance, risk, and project outcomes.
- Support project teams with material, construction, certification, and compliance decisions.
- Undertake site inspections, QA reviews, and manage deliverables to meet deadlines and client expectations.
- Build strong client relationships, prepare fee proposals and variations, and identify opportunities for additional services.
- Represent EBS Consultants professionally and contribute to the growth of our energy and sustainability services.
