Penetration Matrix and Specifications
Ensuring Integrity in Every Layer of Your Construction Project
EBS Consultants specialises in preparing detailed penetration matrixes and specifications, which are critical for fire safety compliance in new constructions. Our documentation covers junctions between fire-resisting construction, protection of penetrations (fire stopping), minimum fire-resistance levels for walls, floors, and columns, as well as openings and fire door sets. All specifications and matrixes are suitable for submission in residential buildings under the Design and Building Practitioners Act 2020.
Our team verifies BCA compliance and ensures fire-rated construction and penetrations are maintained for the life of the building. Periodic inspections and high-level scrutiny help prevent future rectification costs. Our inspectors also offer guidance on other BCA matters while onsite.
We inspect 100% of fire-rated construction and service penetrations, ensuring bounding walls, firewalls, and structures are built to the highest standards. Our inspections identify non-compliance or defects early, allowing for rectification before finishes are installed. This proactive approach minimises future risk and costly rectification.
EBS Consultants provides full certification of fire-rated components by an unrestricted building surveyor (formerly A1), forming part of the occupation certificate. All certification is issued with supporting comments and photographs for complete transparency.
We present toolbox talks and educational sessions to trades, covering fire safety principles, legislative requirements, and hands-on installation guidance for fire-rated walls and systems.
Our highly experienced and qualified inspectors provide ongoing guidance and advice on BCA and fire safety matters, supporting builders, developers, and trades throughout the construction process.
